The Legacy of our Foundation
Anne Peters Volunteer Award
The Anne Peters Volunteer Award was established in 2020 in memory of Anne Peters, a long-time Radnor Educational Foundation Board Member and dedicated volunteer in Radnor’s schools. As one of REF’s founding Board Members, Anne was committed to enriching the experience of all Radnor Township School District teachers, staff, and students. A selfless “doer,” Anne found great joy in volunteering and helping others, often taking on critical behind-the-scenes roles. This award is presented annually to a volunteer who embodies Anne’s kindness, steadfast volunteerism, and tireless devotion to the Radnor Township School District and the surrounding community.
The administration of the award involves a selection committee, appointed by the Radnor Educational Foundation (REF) Board President and Director, to determine the recipient. The chosen honoree will be acknowledged at the annual REF annual fundraising celebration, receiving a crystal award and a $250 honorarium. A perpetual plaque, updated annually, will be placed in the Radnor Township School District (RTSD) Administrative building to recognize each year’s recipient. Anne’s family has provided the funding for this prestigious award, contributing to the sustained recognition of individuals making significant contributions to education and the Radnor community.
Educator Impact Award
When former Radnor High School Principal Mark Schellenger retired in 2015, the Radnor Educational Foundation (REF) wanted to do something special to recognize his dedication to the school district and his devotion to students at Radnor High School. REF concluded that the best way to honor Principal Schellenger would be to create an annual award that would be given to an educator at Radnor High School who exemplifies Principal Schellenger’s dedication to making a student’s high school experience positive and rewarding.
Every day at Radnor High School, caring adults make a difference in the lives of our students. While they may not always know it, the positive impression on the lives of Radnor students is real and significant. The REF Educator Impact Award allows us to recognize the noteworthy contributions of an individual who is currently employed/involved in the Radnor School District, displays a caring demeanor, and consistently puts the needs of students first.
The winner is presented with an award at an all-school assembly and will also be allotted $500 to earmark towards any RHS student group, club, or activity.
