Bryn Mawr Trust Company and Giant Food Stores, Inc.

Contribute to Radnor Educational Foundation

Bryn Mawr Trust Company and Giant Food Stores, Inc. have each recently made $ 2500 contributions to support the Radnor Educational Foundation through the Pennsylvania Education Improvement Tax Credit program.

The Pennsylvania tax credit program allows corporations to receive tax credits by donating to an educational improvement organization to help implement programs not supported by the school district budget.

See the "How you can Help" section for more information about the EITC program.

The Radnor Robotics Team sponsored by REF, CENTOCOR and Penn Liberty Bank, continues to promote interest in science, math, technology, and engineering with robotics competitions.  The team won the Diamond State FIRST VEX Challenge Championship Tournament for the second year in a row at University of Delaware. 45 teams participated in the challenge to build a new robot and compete in a new game, “Hangin’ Around”.  The win qualified the team to travel to Atlanta for FIRST’S Robotics World Championship event held at the Georgia Dome. Radnow placed 22nd out of 100 teams!

REF Presents $20,000 Gift to Radnor Township School District
REF is pleased to have presented a $ 20,000 gift to the Radnor Township School District School Board for the installation of a climbing wall at Radnor Elementary School and a climbing wall with low ropes course elements at the new Radnor Middle School. The climbing walls will be used in a curriculum-based program to develop team building, self-esteem, communication, trust, leadership and social skills for all students. Ropes course elements incorporate a progression of skills for various grade levels that teach skills for living and assist in student behavior modification and ultimately, enhance and expand the existing health and physical education programs.

What happened when government funding was cut and vital summer reading was in danger of shutting down?

The Radnor Educational Foundation stepped in to rescue the program in Summer of 2005, 2006 and 2007 with lead funding for STARS, SummerTime Achievement in Reading, a summer camp available for all elementary students in need of reading assistance. The support of this program demonstrates our effectiveness and responsiveness within the School District. This is why REF is vital to our community.

Because of YOU the Foundation exists and is able to lend support for the education of our children.
