Technology in RTSD Gets $66,000 Boost with Largest Grant in History of Radnor Educational Foundation
The Historic Contribution Impacts Every Student and Faculty Member in Radnor

Every student and teacher in Radnor Township School District now has enhanced access to instructional technology thanks to one of the district’s longest partners and the generous donations of Radnor families, businesses and supporters.

Radnor Educational Foundation has recently awarded Radnor Township School District the largest grant in its history, giving $66,000 to fund technology access and equity across the district’s five schools. REF will support the purchase of monitors and Surface Pro docking stations for all teachers to enhance remote instruction.

The large grant was commemorated with a ceremonial check presented by REF president Brian Pugh and REF director Theji Brennan to RTSD administrators on November 18. Made possible through donations to REF from the Radnor community and business members, the grant will fund innovation including flexible and personalized learning, rethinking time and space, and enhanced collaboration and enriched learning experiences.

“On behalf of the district, we sincerely thank REF and all the community members who give generously in support of our schools,” said Kenneth E. Batchelor, RTSD superintendent. “The district, our students, and our staff have benefited from our strong partnership with REF for years, and this grant builds greatly on that tradition during a time when support for schools and innovative learning models is especially crucial.”

“We are excited to fund a grant which helps teachers and students in the current virtual and hybrid learning environment, now and for years to come,” Brennan said. “The grant will impact every student in the district. We’re eager to share our mission to support the educational experience of all Radnor school students, and fund extraordinary initiatives like this.”

“Our community has truly pulled together this school year to adapt and meet the unique needs of our current COVID environment,” said Dr. Scott Hand, RTSD director of technology. “This funding will significantly enhance the seamless hybrid learning experiences our teachers are creating for today’s remote instruction, as well as catalyze tomorrow’s innovative practices at Radnor.”
