About us

Our History

In 1994, a group of Radnor Township School District parents met with school administrators to figure out a way to continue providing the students with an enriched curriculum and innovative programs despite increasing state educational costs and tighter district budgets.

This collaboration resulted in the creation of the Radnor Educational Foundation (REF). We are an independent, charitable 501c(3) organization registered in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and are funded solely through donations from individuals and corporations, Partner tax credits via the Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) program and fundraising events.

Since our inception, REF has awarded over $1.5 million in grants to the Radnor Township School District students and teachers. We are proud to offer a diverse number of programs that support Radnor’s pursuit of excellence and fund grants in numerous categories: STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) Programs, Curriculum Enhancement, Cultural Arts, Technology, Professional Development and Community Engagement. We are also excited to be part of the Radnor Alumni Council, a collaboration of groups and individuals who have a vested interest in preserving Radnor past and impacting Radnor future.

We have an active Board of Trustees, which includes Radnor parents, teachers, PTO representatives, RTSD administration and RHS students. Together they bring a depth of knowledge and experience that helps REF to execute its vision to fund programs that prepare students to compete and succeed in a dynamic global environment. Committees include Finance, Grants, Governance, Development, Community Outreach, Alumni Council and Marketing.

Our Mission

The Radnor Educational Foundation’s mission is to secure and provide funding and support to enrich the educational experience, maintain academic excellence and encourage innovative opportunities for the students of the Radnor Township School District.
