Dan Bechtold, Director of Secondary Teaching and Learning

Mr. Bechtold provides leadership and oversight of Radnor Middle School and Radnor High School as well as provides K-12 leadership and oversight of curriculum, instruction and assessment in the subject areas of Library and English Language Development, oversight of the development and implementation of the district comprehensive plan, and 6-12 Instructional Technology. He joined the district in 2011 as an assistant principal at RHS before becoming principal in July 2015. During his leadership of RHS, the school rose to third in Pennsylvania in U.S. News and World Report’s High School Rankings and 99% of the Class of 2018 graduated in four years. The average SAT score for the Class of 2018 was 1320 and 84% of students who took the 1,068 Advanced Placement assessments in 2017-18 received a score of 3 or above. RHS was also named a 2017-19 Apple Distinguished School. Mr. Bechtold also served as co-chair of the RTSD Sleep and School Start Time Committee.
