Radnor Educational foundation welcomes new board of trustees members: Frances Gray, Pranav Gupta, Hadley Perkins, and Soumya D. Chakravarty. These newly appointed trustees will bring diverse experience and passion to support the foundation’s mission of enriching educational opportunities for students across the district.Â
Frances Gray – Treasurer, Finance Chair, Development Committee
Frances Gray is a financial professional with close to 30 years of corporate accounting and finance experience primarily in the Insurance and Reinsurance fields. She transitioned to education a few years ago and recently obtained her teacher’s certification for Secondary Mathematics and Business Education. Frances received a Master’s degree in Taxation from Widener University and a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from The University of Scranton
Pranav Gupta – Finance Committee
Pranav Gupta is in the investment management space. He was previously a restructuring investment banker at Evercore in New York where he helped distressed companies navigate challenging times and preserve operations and jobs. Prior to that he was a management consultant to Fortune 100 companies including Cola-Cola, Kellogg’s and Clorox. He received his BS in Finance and MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He lives in Radnor with his wife and three boys.
Hadley Perkins – Governance/Nominations Co-ChairÂ
Hadley Perkins is a lawyer and educator. In addition to her law practice, she teaches at Villanova University’s School of Business and is the Academic Director for a summer program for high school students at Penn Cary Law School. She previously taught at Villanova’s Charles Widger School of Law, Penn Carey Law School, and Washington & Lee Law School. In addition to her law degree, she has an MA in Education from Villanova.
In her law practice, she has represented a wide variety of clients, including public school districts, charter schools, and colleges/universities. Currently, her area of practice focuses on general corporate law, entrepreneurial ventures, and labor and employment issues. She has also managed operations of a small engineering company and independently launched a few of her own small businesses. Hadley volunteers with a variety of Philadelphia-based organizations and regularly spends election day protecting the vote through Delaware County election protection initiatives. She has lived in Radnor for over 20 years and her children are proud Radnor Raptors.
Soumya D. Chakravarty- Grants Committee
Soumya D. Chakravarty, MD, PhD, FACP, FACR serves as Head, Therapeutic Area Lead, Gastroenterology Medical Affairs, U.S. Immunology at Johnson & Johnson. Prior to joining J&J, Soumya was an Assistant Professor of Medicine, Division of Rheumatology at Drexel University College of Medicine and Hahnemann University Hospital, both in Philadelphia, PA, where he was an active clinician and clinical investigator with a focus on inflammatory arthritis. He currently maintains a voluntary continuity clinic in rheumatology, treating patients at Tower Health Reading Hospital in Reading, PA.
Soumya received his B.S. in Biochemistry from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. He received his MD and PhD from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University in NY. He completed his internal medicine residency at New-York Presbyterian Hospital—Weill Cornell Medical College and fellowship/instructorship in rheumatology at Hospital for Special Surgery, both in NY. He is a Fellow of both the American College of Physicians, as well as the American College of Rheumatology. Soumya and his family live in the greater Philadelphia area. Soumya is a passionate Michigan sports fan and enjoys classic films, travel, and spending time with his family.
