CandyceCandyce Wilson will complete her three year tenure as President on June 30. Candyce began her volunteer service with REF as a member of the grants committee when her two sons were students at Wayne Elementary School, and later served as the committee chair. She also chaired REF’s annual gala.

Under Candyce’s guidance, REF has more fully realized its mission to enrich the educational experience and encourage innovative opportunities for RTSD students. REF has granted funds in a wide range of new areas, including social and emotional wellness, digital and distance learning, environmental sustainability, and a recently launched community internship program for Radnor High School students.

Thanks to Candyce’s leadership, REF increased fundraising, granting in excess of $100,000 in the first year of her presidency, an over fifty percent increase over the previous year. REF has continued to grant over $100,000 annually for the past three years, a significant achievement for a foundation serving a district of Radnor’s size. Candyce will continue to serve on the REF board in 2015-16 as past president. Current treasurer Gretchen Anderson will be REF’s next President.

REF is proud to have students from RHS serve on our board of trustees. This year we are seeing two of our members graduate.
Wyly Anderson has been on the board for two years and will be heading off to Princeton. He has been a very involved student and Radnor and we know he will do great things in his college career.

Natalie Beers was also a very involved student while at RHS. From the Crew Team to the band and Meistersingers and Madrigals she enjoyed it all. Natalie has a love of sailing and we know she is going to sail off to her college career at the College of William and Mary and be a great success.
We thank them both for their time and dedication to being a part of REF

On May 28th, REF sponsored an evening of Cultural and Culinary Delight at the Wayne Art Center. Guests were given a guided tour through the Plein Air Festival by one of the award winning artists and then participated in a five station culinary workshop and dinner. Special thanks to hosts Chelsea Anderson and Kim Hannum for putting together such a fabulous and delicious night!

The Radnor Educational Foundation celebrated its 20th anniversary at its annual Gala on February 7, 2015 at St. Davids Golf Club. Over 200 guests, including Radnor school parents, school board members, administrators, teachers and sponsors turned out for Charting the Course. This year’s event showcased the talents of Radnor students, including theme artwork created by students in the Radnor High School art program and a video created by student
members of RadTV. Members of Radnor High School’s jazz ensemble and the cast of The Sound of Music provided entertainment. Guests participated in a silent and live auction, in addition to the event’s signature Radnor Mystery Box raffle, featuring a chance to win a seven day cruise for two. Proceeds from the event will be directed to the record $114,000 in grants REF plans to award during 2014-2015.
